Research Interests: Ocean phenomena ranging from the meso- to the microscale that contribute to mixing and stirring with particular attention to interactions between such phenomena, including fronts, eddies, internal waves, potential-vorticity-carrying finestructure, turbulence and double diffusion Parameterization of the impact of "subgridscale" processes on larger scales; and how bottom topography such as seamounts, ridges, continental shelf canyons and the continental slope enhances internal waves and turbulent mixing.
